Unit 4 Evaluation

At the beginning of the project I was interested in movement of human body and how can I capture it on the photograph. I used layering and putting photos on the other to show the places where the human body was and where it is now. I was not sure if that’s the only thing I want to do, so I tried different things such as adding text and trying to play with words and photographs. It wasn’t very successful but it gave me the idea of experiments. I started to focus more on the hands, because I found them really interesting. I have done numerous photographs and edited them in Photoshop, trying to achieve the best effect I can possibly get. After a while, I started to look at work of Andre Kertesz, who was playing with distortion and I found this really inspiring. I used Photoshop to make hands look weird and different to their normal position and I tried to show something unusual with it. As I was still into movement, I tried combining these things and that’s how I came up to the idea of copying one part of image and pasting it few times. I really like the finish effect, because the colours and editing works really well with the distorted hands.
